Scientific And Healthy Feeding Schedule For Your Lovely Cat
DateAug.01,2022 by #

Most of cats, provided unlimited cat food 24 hours long and with free access, can get their food whenever they want to eat, some masters also feed their cats once or twice a day. Anyway, cat's feeding depends on their master's leisure schedule. However, is it really beneficial to cat's health?

According to scientists's research on cats and dogs, wild cats eat 8-12 times within 24hours. They spend most of time in hunting, so they eat little in every meal, but frequent in a day. Their digestive structure normally affected by diet habit, their digestive system starts to work as soon as smell food. Therefore, free access to food and food exposure would lead their digestive system work all the time. Like all physiological functions, the GI tract requires energy to function. If it works all the time, it will absorb nutrition from other systems to maintain its operation, which will affect the health situation of other system.

This can cause a lot of problems, including premature aging, poor hair quality and chronic cystitis. In addition, the sense of hunger is part of healthy function of its digestive system. Undigested solid food is kept in the stomach until the rest of the food is completely digested, and hunger is the key factor that keeps the digestive system working.

So if the cat can't feel hunger all the time, the smooth functioning of the digestive system can be compromised, which can lead to stomach upset, hairball reflux and other athletic digestive problems. Apparently, eating freely anytime is not healthy to cats. Cats can't intake enough nutrition eating solid food for a long time, so the free and unlimited access to food is an unhealthy diet, because the most of feline nutrition institute get fund from cat food manufacturers, the connection between the cat solid food and feline diseases and premature death is also very few.On the other hand, unlike dog's stomach, cat's stomach cannot expand to accommodate large amounts of food. If a cat is overfed at one time, the cat will ruminate. eat only one or two meals a day tend to prone to this problem.

If cats eat too quickly when they are very hungry can also cause discomfort and nausea. Similarly, when a cat is hungry, bile acids in the stomach increase. If this remain for too long or it accumulates enough, the cat is likely to become nauseous, causing what many people call "hunger vomit," which is usually a distinctly foamy substance.

The hunger time various among different cats, but it can be as short as five to six hours without food. Unfortunately, for some cats, this vomiting can trigger a cascade of discomfort that can cause the cat to stop eating indefinitely. In all of these cases, even if the cat is not obviously sick, it may not feel very well.

So, how often the cats should be fed.Adult cats at least three times a day, at least four times a day if you can manage it, and kittens at least four times a day. If you feed right after you get up in the morning, and go home right after work, and feed before you go to bed at night, it's easy to do three times a day.

If your schedule doesn't allow this, you can buy a timed feeders. Eating 3 to 4 meals a day will greatly reduce your cat's stress level, which will be good for their digestive system, and I insist that you feed meat, canned food, and no dry food if it possible.

Unlike dogs, fasting is an unhealthy behavior for cats. At the very least, it can cause severe hunger and lead to an upset stomach, and at worst, it can cause diseases like liver fat. One of the most common feline liver diseases, hepatic lipidosis, or fatty liver disease, can rapidly lead to serious complications and even death, especially in overweight feline populations.

Feeding raw meat or a low-carb diet at least three times a day as planned will go a long way toward keeping your cat's digestive system healthy, strong, and working at peak efficiency!
